You roll your sleeves up and tackle everything from bad cabinets and structural issues to the final fresh look of a pulled together home with tremendous
curb appeal. The look you create is way beyond superficial “band-aid” touches. I do see a lot of homes, some barely cleaned up and full of clutter…my heart sinks when I see this, because I know that if you had brought your eye and skill to such a home, that you would have transformed yuck to wow very quickly and with not only skill, but sensitivity that honors the fact that most sellers are very sentimental about their homes, regardless of the condition they are in.

“We contracted with Musette to coordinate cosmetic upgrades to our home in San Leandro to prepare it for sale. She added many excellent ideas of her own to those of our stager, and presented to us a prioritized list of improvements with ballpark cost estimates so we could choose where to draw the line. Our home’s old paint, carpet, light fixtures, and window treatments were all tired and from another era, and the list went all the way down to the little things like cleaning the fireplace hearth to make it pretty. Her constant attention to budget saved us thousands. For example, she determined that the paint in many rooms was neutral enough to look modern once the rose carpeting was eliminated.
Once we had separated the “must-do” from the “nice-to-do”, she then coordinated getting estimates for some trades, and had good references for others. Then she got to work scheduling and directing all the work. She and her own people tackled the small, and some not so small, things that individually don’t seem to matter much — replacing cabinet handles, polishing tired wood finishes, replacing cracked cover plates, refastening loose trim, and on and on. Each alone wouldn’t have detracted much, but with fresh carpet and decorating, the little things start to stand out, and with her fresh vision she could spot them when we who had lived there couldn’t.
As the improvements came together, and before some of the trades had left for the day, she was quick to spot things that had been overlooked or not done as expected, and with a quick phone call got permission from us to add some significant value at very little cost.
